I had it in my head for an hour or two while it evolved.The idea was to have popping and blipping analogue synth sounds going in arpeggio and rhythm patterns.Its simple with a and b half equally long.Simultaneously the story was conceived about a dancing man wanting to be bitten by a werewolf.The original music was created in old cakewalk but I missed the software synthesizer sounds and moved to convert to logic for pc where I could use es2 with own or other presets.I found several I like but together the produced a distorted mix.Also the tempo went down when there was many tones.The bounce feature saved the tracks together in real to a hard drive wave file.The problem was that the computer was to slow to output every constructed timbre without pace fail.I didnt care and let the uneven flow be.Some notice and cant stand it but hopefully the major piece rock.I have been fascinated by electronic music since the days of Moog,Arp with Wendy Carlos (then Walter) as favorite.The picture …

For the sake of variety, here’s an instru version of a song that I wrote in the early ’70s, a few years before I got ‘hooked up’ by the Sonet label in ’74. It’s got a pretty confusing history to it, to say the least! I cut the basic backing to it in an empty cellar room (!), next to a frequently used parking lot, using just my 1960 Hagström ‘plank’ through a small Yamaha PA system with a built-in metronome (the analog forerunner to a drum machine you might say!) for the rhythm part and added a guiding vocal to top it off! The remaining history is somewhat covered in a misty cloud of non re-collection, I must admit! But I apparently got around to it again and added a twin lead guitar pattern, plus a bass and proper drums and had it included on a handful of 12″ acetate demos that I had pressed up on the UK Deroy label in 1974 for my own private use. Six years later it was included on the “No. 1 Rockabilly” album on the Swedish Jan label. And no less than 11 years later it was released yet again, this time on the “Look Out Heart” album on the Spanish Caramba label. BUT, here’s where the real confusion kicks in! The Caramba version might have the original vocal and SOME of the instruments intact from the original version, but in time for it’s release I ‘stripped it down’ and erased the original twin guitar layers and added strings (no, I wasn’t on dope or drinkin’ heavily, honest!!) and a dog house bass instead!
