Lebanon, Oregon (PRWEB) December 1, 2008

Lebanon,OR — based Tom Trotts of TopInternetRewards.com has launched a new website that promises to deliver high ticket items such as high definition TVs, laptops and gaming consoles for free or next to nothing. This new website exploits little known rewards schemes offered by some of the best known brands to supply life’s luxuries even in a time of financial crisis.

Tom Trotts, Owner of TopInternetRewards.com explains, “most people don’t realize they can actually get these high priced toys and gadgets for little to nothing if not completely free and that it’s not a scam or hoax. That is the biggest problem facing this industry – no one believes you can actually get things free, but you really can.”

Indeed Tom Trotts is proof himself as he raised all the capital to create TopInternetRewards.com from using similar sites. It’s a three step process. In step one a desired reward is chosen, either a games console such as a Playstation 3, Wii, Xbox or top range PC, cash or HDTV’s. Then in step 2 the required credits are earned by trying out 1 or 2 of the advertisers offers. The final step is to show others how to do it and refer them.

“The referral step may be a problem for some, I felt the same as I didn’t know anyone that would do this , so then I made a Youtube video and posted that”, says Tom. “About three weeks later a brand new 80gb PS3 with Call Of Duty 4 worth $ 500 was sitting on my doorstep. It didn’t cost me a dime.”

Some of the offers involve small shipping costs or free trials but all are from genuine companies who support such schemes to generate leads and contacts for their popular services and goods.

“The economy has filled the news full of despair and is really quite depressing. I want people to have hope and feel optimistic about the future. People should be able to have the things they want to have. You don’t have to spend a fortune for the newest toys and gadgets this holiday season, or $ 1500 for 52″ HDTV, $ 500 for a PS3, or wonder how you’re going to get a laptop for your education when I can help you get them free” explains Tom.

Those interested should visit http://www.TopInternetRewards.com and select their first reward.

Restoring the SEO Quake Icon

So you updated your browser client Firefox and now your SEO Quake icon is no longer showing up in the toolbar? Or, you can see the icon but it is grayed out.Not to worry as I too have experienced this issue and the fix for these two, actually one problem, is quite easy to resolve in most cases.

If you cannot seem to find the icon, the problem is more than likely due to the fact that your “Add on” bar is not enabled for viewing. To fix this do the following:

  1. Open you Firefox browser client
  2. Go to the “View” menu item at the top of the menu bar
  3. Placed your cursor over the “Toolbars” menu item and locate the Ad-on Bar item and click on it. If it was disabled before, you will now be able to see this menu bar and the SEO Quake icon should now show up.

In cases where your icon is viewable but just grayed out, you just need to click on the icon to enable it. This easy click on and off feature is convenient as it allows you to easily temporarily disable the add-on without actually changing any setting in your browser.

For those of you who are not familiar with SEO quake and landed here after typing in some other related query, you might want to know what SEO Quake is.  Well here you go:

It is a plugin/addon for Firefox that allows you to see the PR (Page rank), Alexa ranking, number of links to a domain, the age of a domain, the number of pages indexed for a site, and other valuable statistical data about the websites listed on the page you are viewing in your browser.

For those who are internet marketers or those who wish to know how much competition they have for a blog or website they are building, this can be a very helpful browser tool bar gadget.

An electrical toy that doesn’t rely on batteries has to be a good thing. You don’t even have to rely on the sun, stick it under a lamp and watch it swing! Solar power will undoubtedly play a big part in our future, so getting to grips with its potential using this Solar Robot Kit can’t be a bad thing. Current Trends In Storage For Computing Devices

Since the earliest days of computing, the need to store files has existed. At one point in the past having a 100 megabytes of storage capability was considered more than the average home user would ever possibly need. Hmm, boy did that change.

Fortunately over the years technology has kept pace with people’s needs, and the cost of storage has rapidly decreased. Storage capacity increased and inversely the physical size of the storage media decreased to a more manageable size. These trends continue today, with storage capacities increasing and prices decreasing, but that is not all that is changing.

Moves are also being made regarding other technologies. Instead of the older style, moving platter hard drive storage, solid state drives are becoming more common. These are more energy efficient, and hence are better suited to mobile devices than moving platter hard drives. They are also incredibly quick, enabling faster data access than ever before, and these drives are now becoming available as external as well as internal drives.

Though the improvements made to computer storage is a wonderful thing, and lets us store far more than ever before in a far smaller space, it does present problems. Specifically, are you going to lose all of your files when the changes are made, and if not, how do you keep your files with you through changes in technology?

It is important that you keep a back up of all of your information, and this applies to your computing practices at all times, not just when considering an upgrade to a newer technology. This protects you from catastrophic loss, but it is important to remember that your back up files must also be moved to newer storage methods if you are considering upgrading.

For instance, if you still have important photos or files on floppy discs, then now is the time to retrieve them. If you don’t have a computer with a floppy drive, ask around among your friends and see if you can find someone who does, and who is willing to let you transfer your files. You can move them onto an external hard drive that runs via USB.

Future proofing your files can be achieved by simply ensuring that when you migrate to a new technology, you do so in a way that allows you to move your files. This is currently pretty easy because current storage techniques run via USB. Thanks to this, you can transfer files directly from one storage device to the next by simply plugging in both USB devices at once. Though USB technology may improve, and get faster, it looks likely to continue with the same principles for the near future.

As a general rule, as new technology is developed corresponding devices are designed with backward compatibility in mind. For the most part, upgrading to a storage device that uses a newer technology will not cause any issues. As long as your previous system is not say and system that is really old, you should have no problem upgrading and taking advantage of devices that use the latest technology.

E-book Reading Devices

e-books are picking up momentum with regards to popularity due to their convenience and their ability to store a large amount of data in such a small space. And with the increase in e-book popularity has also come an increase in the variety of devices available for reading them.

There are a number of devices that can download eBooks, mostly thanks to the use of applications that are available for those devices. These include smartphones and computers, but neither of these is ideal for reading eBooks.

Smartphones are generally too small to function well as eReaders, and as such they have screens that are harder to read. Laptops and netbooks on the other hand are too hard to handle. They have a large screen, which is easy to read, but they are much larger than a paper book, and often considerably heavier. In short, they are more machine than is needed to just read a book.

eBook readers are a similar size to smaller tablet computers. At around seven inches, they are similar in size to a paper book, and in fact because they are so slim they are actually smaller and easier to handle than a normal book. The question becomes, what is best as an eBook reader-a tablet computer or a dedicated eBook reader?

The eBook reader has a couple of large advantages over the tablet. Firstly, most employ an eInk technology that provides a high contrast display that is visible in even bright and sunny conditions. It works in fact, in the same conditions that printed paper is visible-meaning that you need a light source to view it. This can be a drawback in the dark where an artificial light source will be needed, but provides a more restful reading experience than a backlit screen.

The eBook reader battery life is also far better than a tablet’s, with the average eBook reader lasting for at least a couple of weeks between charges-and up to a month. A tablet is only likely to last around eight to ten hours on average, in part because of the screen back light putting an extra strain on the battery.

The drawback to an eBook reader is that it only works for displaying eBooks and other documents. It is a locked down device, unlike the tablet. A web browser may be included but is likely to be very basic, and may even be monochrome. Tablets are multi-purpose devices. They can browse the web, play media and games and also run applications such as the eBook reader. The sizes of the two devices is incredibly similar-so much so that size alone is not a good reason for choosing one or the other.

If you want a dedicated device, that can hold thousands of books and can last for up to a month on a single charge, then the eBook reader is for you. But if you want the flexibility of having a device that is capable of far more, then you might want to consider a tablet.
