Sell those old electronic, mobile, and camera gadgets that you have lying around and save the environment.

We all have used electronic equipment lying around that you can no longer use but  don’t know what to do with. Yes, you could just throw them away but something in your conscious probably stops you from doing so.  You probably feel that throwing away that old game console, PDA, or LCD monitor will somehow end up causing harm to our planet.

If this sounds like you, you are not alone.  Many people feel the same way and simply don’t throw these items just because they feel guilty about putting something harmful in a land fill. They would rather try to recycle used gadgets or give them to someone who can make use of them.

The good news is that there is a way to get rid of those old devices in a responsible and financially rewarding. Not only can you recycle your used gadgets such as camcorders, camera lenses, and blackberry,  but you can actually get paid for them.  By doing this, not only will you be helping the environment, but you will also be doing your bank account a favor as well.

So where do you go to sell your used electronic devices toys?  While there are several websites out there that will buy them from you, there is one place that distinguishes itself from the others. This company is special because it is not only dedicated to giving you the most money when you sell used electronics, mobile phones, and other gadgets, but it is also dedicated to helping the environment. This company is called Gazelle .

Let me explain further why this company stands out from the rest. For starters, they don’t operate like a typical junk dealers.  When you send in your items for recycling, each piece is carefully inspected to see if it is still in good working condition or not.  If so, then the item is sold to a retail or wholesale outlet and hopefully bought by a new owner.

Keep in mind that although your interest is in getting rid of that old item, there are many others who would love to have that GPS or other device that you no longer want. Its kind of like that old boyfriend tat you dumped.  Although you no longer wanted him, someone after you was probably happy to get him.

The reason most people buy recycled items is than many either cannot afford to buy the products new or, in some cases, just aren’t willing to pay the “new” price. Even in cases where price is not the issue,  some people just like things that carry that old vintage look.  The Gazele system of recycling makes it possibnle to meet the needs of both type buyers.

If you are curious now about how the recycling system works, here is a brief summary. Once your item is received, your are sent an email confirming receipt of your item and one more email when your payment has been sent.  Next, your item it is  carefully inspected and evaluated for resell potential.

For any products that are in good working condition, they prepare them for offering through sales channel they have set up.  For laptops , old computers, I-pods etc., they extend the life by erasing all memory storage devices that might have had information stored on them.  Any electronics that can be resold “as is” or repaired easily, is cleaned up and set aside for further sorting.  This whole process takes about one week from the time your item is received.

The next step is to deal with the items that cannot be resold. Instead of just junking them, these items are taken apart and salvaged for parts. These parts are then sorted and sold to other recycling companies, who in turn, use them to create new products.

For example, if you were to sell used gadgets to Gazelle, even if they didn’t work, they would still be recycled in a responsible manner. If you sent them an old laptop, and it didn’t work,  the mother board, sound card, and other salvageable items would be removed and used in other laptops they had that needed these specific parts to work again. The other parts:  cases, monitor screens and such, would be recycled as well.

This is a win-win situation for all so go ahead and clean up that storage area of old, unwanted gadgets and make some money while you are at it.  They will even pay the shipping and will even send you a box.  Sell your items today!
